I am looking for a roommate to share a fantastic 2 br/2 ba condo located one block from 14th St between U St and Columbia Heights. The condo is within a beautiful 1900s era townhome that was completely gutted/ renovated in 2004 to create the condos and then updated again in 2010 to incorporate built-in bookshelves, surround sound speakers, and more. With over 1000 sq ft of living space and windows overlooking the Capitol Dome (while still being under an 8 minute walk to either U St or Columbia Heights metros), this place is an incredible value. The condo unit is fully furnished in the common areas and contains a washer/dryer, gas-heated oven/stove, microwave, dishwasher, etc. You would have your own (unfurnished) room and off-hallway full bathroom. The room contains a walk-in closet and built-in shelves. It has enough space for a queen-size bed, dresser, bookshelf, desk, and side-table. There is zoned parking on the street that is free if you register your car for the neighborhood. As for me, I'm an early-30s professional female working in DC. I remain fairly active and rarely lounge around the apartment, but when I'm home I enjoy cooking/baking, reading, making bad puns that you'll probably have to get used to, and binge-watching HBO or Netflix shows. I love taking part in all DC has to offer with regard to restaurants, festivals, races, and so on. As for a roommate, I'm looking for a male or female around the same age who also keeps an active lifestyle and could maintain a friendly roommate relationship. I am relatively neat and organized and am looking for a roommate who maintains a similar, respectful cleanliness level. I have a cleaning service every three weeks for overall maintenance as well. No smoking, no drugs, no excessive smelliness... you know the drill... and I'd prefer no pets (although I'd be amenable to discussing this option). The lease would start any time after August 1 and require a month's rent as a security deposit that you would get back upon the termination of your lease. Rent is $1550 and electric/gas/cable/internet typically run an additional $100/person/month. I cover the cleaning service expense. Lease term is 12 months (negotiable) with option to renew.
