Located near Montego Bay, guests enjoy secluded privacy in this stunning 35 acre hillside estate, yet have close access and can enjoy membership privileges to the Montego Bay Yacht Club/Hard Rock Cafe Beach Club.
Built in the 1940s by the Duke of Marlborough, Drambuie Estate takes one back a step, or two, in time to days gone by when folks withdrew to the drawing room after dinner or enjoyed a game of wisk out on the veranda. Old world charm meets modern day amenities in this stunning villa with exposed cut stone walls brought over from Europe in centuries past and vaulted ceilings that reach sixteen feet in height. Cool ceramic tiles are decorated with lovely oriental rugs while pretty antiques come together with wicker furnishings to create an eclectic balance of classic opulence and trade winds chic.
In the main house there is the kitchen, butler’s pantry and a guest bath as well as a great room where a billiards table and entertainment center share space with an inlaid gaming table for chess, checkers or backgammon. French doors open wide to a wrap around stone terrace that is set for al fresco dining and living with plenty of comfortable seating as well as an inviting hammock.
Also in the main house, through majestic mahogany doors, is the master suite with its impressive king size antique four poster canopy bed, mahogany desk and French doors that lead out to the veranda, gardens, pool and beautiful ocean views. The master suite offers an exquisite en-suite bathroom with a dressing room, double vanity, bidet, separate shower and sunken tub and etched mirrored ceilings and walls.
A tiled path leads from the main house down to the cottage where guests will find bedrooms two, three and four, which are all connected through inner passage doors which can be kept closed for privacy. A lovely Spanish tiled veranda faces the views and is comfortably furnished. All three bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms.
Finally, just down from the cottage is an intimate hideaway which hosts the fifth bedroom for two. This bedroom has a queen size bed, an en-suite bathroom and louvered doors open onto a terrace that is furnished with a breakfast table, sitting area and hammock with lovely views of a garden ravine.
