We are located in the center of Kathmandu with most of the UNESCO Heritage sites and tourist center of Thamel in walking distance. My house is yet off the main road with relatives and extended families living around. That makes it safe, less noisy and welcoming place with more chances of cultural immersion and knowing the Nepalese family life.
I live with my 6 years old daughter 'Anna' 83 years old father in law and husband who runs a tour company 'iTourNepal.com P Ltd.' I run a preschool in the neighborhood with my other two women partners. So we definitely have lots of stories to share and activities to involve you.
The house is 12 years old concrete building with red brick front. Our neighborhood and the house stood strong during the April 2015 earthuake. Even though I have small yard, there are plenty of trees and flowers. We have adopted eco-friendly lifestyle. So we use less plastics and compost biodegradable waste. I use the manure to grow vegetables in the rooftop. We have got solar heated water and for back up lights. We filter rain water and harvest it.
We just have 3 rooms allocated for homestay guests. But we are expanding to neighborhood as community homestay. I believe on enforcing eco-friendly lifestyle through tourism.
All rooms have kitchenette and attached bathroom.
Homestay guest can join us in kitchen and learn making Nepalese cuisine.
