Greenhills is a large recently renovated home 12 kms from Bairnsdale. The house is spacious with 2 living rooms plus a study and theatre, surrounded by verandah on 3 sides. The garden is lush and extensive, previously listed in the Australian Open Garden Scheme, with endless flowers, trees and plants, stunning water features plus an orchard. Greenhills is in the foothills of Mt Taylor surrounded by 500 acres of farmland where cattle graze, and only 30 mins to beaches such as Metung and Paynesville. It is perfectly situated to many of the local attractions such as wineries, Buchan Caves, Bruthen Jazz festival, Bruthen Walking Trails and markets, Paynesville waterfont, sailing and watersports. Lakes Entrance is 40 mins drive, the Nungurner artists galleries and glass studio are only 35 mins away. Consisting of four large bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, this home will comfortably sleep 8 people. All the bedrooms have large sliding windows with mosquito screens, and their own external door to the outdoor verandah. The main bedroom features a king bed with an en suite offering magnificent views of the garden and lilly pond looking eastwards towards the hills in the distance. There is also a TV in this room. The second bedroom has a queen bed, the third features a bunk bed with 2 singles, the fourth bedroom has twin beds. All bedrooms have brand new glossy built in wardrobes and shelves. The kitchen is fresh and generously provisioned with both gas and electric cooktops, an oven which can be either gas or electric, microwave, large side by side fridge/freezer, and Miele dishwasher. Admire views of the garden and farm from the large windows and sliding doors in the open plan kitchen/dining area. The kitchen/dining area has a split system airconditioner to keep cool in summer. Next to it is an outdoor shaded area with BBQ, chairs and trestle tables for you to use. In the cooler months enjoy a cosy log fire (with wood provided) in the TV room, or use the split system heater in the open plan kitchen/dining area for instant warmth and comfort. Stretch out on the plush sofas for some screen time in front of the HD TV in the TV room, or retire with everyone to the spacious theatre to watch the big screen on 3 large recliners and 4 bean bags. The equipment is a Blu Ray DVD player with an overhead projector and a fabulous sound system. Alternatively read or chat quietly in the formal living room on comfy couches, or in the separate spacious study. You can follow the Twin Rivers Farm Food and Wine Trail to learn more. The Gippsland Lakes system includes three large lakes with 600 square kilometers of navigable waterways. Paynesville sits between Lake King and Lake Victoria offering sandy swimming beaches, plus a public wharf, jetties and beaches for fishing. The sheltered waters of Newlands Arm are ideal for a range of watersports such as water skiing, kayaking, canoeing, yachting, or windsurfing. Visit the koalas on Raymond Island. Raymond Island is a wonderfully natural bushy island, separated from Paynesville by water - it can only be accessed by ferry or boat. Just outside Paynesville at Eagle Point Bluff you can view the famous Lake King silt jetties. They are formed by sediment of the rise and fall of the Mitchell River as it flows into the lake, and are the second-longest in the world! The resorts of Metung and Lakes Entrance are a little further, and there are miles of rivers to explore by boat, which can also be hired. There is a strong art culture around the Gippsland Lakes. There is designer jewellery, sculpture, prints and glass art. Visit the studios near Nungurner to see local artists at work or purchase items. There are many antique museums and shops in the area, such as the Bairnsdale Clock Museum with over 600 clocks. 'Tambo Trails' is situated 20 km from Bairnsdale between the Twin Rivers, the Nicholson and Tambo, 306km from Melbourne. The East Gippsland Rail Trail runs along Kettles Lane (no though Road). Other attractions include the Colquhoun State Forest, Lake Tyers or go for a day trip to Dinner Plain or the Snowy River National Park.
