Hapua means "Lagoon where Tui gather" and is a small farm in the beautiful Tukituki Valley in Hawke's Bay. We offer a newly refurbished WW2 army barracks for your stay set near the lagoon which is surrounded by 100 year old trees full of native birds. Two bedrooms are also available in the south wing of the Homestead.
You can swim in the big swimming pool and relax and cook a BBQ at the Wine Bar. It is 20 - 30 mins to places such as Havelock North, Hastings, Napier, Cape Coast, Waimarama, Waipawa. A magical beach is nearby. It's the ideal place to unwind and relax, base yourself for a Hawke's Bay visit, or stopover on the way through the Bay. Pets also welcome by arrangement.
Hapua is ideal for one or two people but we can accommodate children or more than two people by arrangement. Guests must remember there are open waterways and other typical farm hazards and children must be supervised at all times. Pets allowed with prior approval. Smoking allowed outside only. Horses can be accommodated. Guests are free to roam the boardwalk around the lagoon and a visit with the Alpaca's can be arranged on request.
