This spacious cottage sits high on a hill with two decks overlooking the Plum Island Sound, the Merrimack River and the great salt marshes. The rear deck is huge and has a roof to provide shade and protection from the rain. There is plenty of deck furniture for you and your guests to enjoy the views. The sunsets here on Plum Island are famous and you will have a front row seat. The beach is a short walk away. It is a very quiet and private location. The living room and kitchen are an open concept with lots of light from the many windows. Two bedrooms and a double futon in the living room provides sleeping for six. The master bedroom has a queen size bed and the second bedroom has 2 twins. There is one full bathroom with a tub-shower. Fresh linens and fluffy towels are provided. The kitchen is stocked with all the amenities that you will need to whip up lots of tasty meals. There is also a propane grill on the back deck for your grilling pleasure. We provide the propane tanks for your convenience. Should you run out, you can head over for a replacement tank at The Cottage Island Market. We offer a basic cable package through Comcast, as well as a Roku box so you can stream your favorite shows from Netflix, watch YouTube, or play a movie from the other major streaming sites. With WiFi access provided, you will have no trouble looking up restaurant reviews or posting your vacation pictures to Facebook. Here on friendly Plum Island, you will be able to walk around between restaurants, home, and the beach. Start by strolling just across the street to the public access and walk right out onto the soft sand. Dip your feet in the water, build sand castles, or simply gaze out at the gorgeous scenery and relax. Nearby are multiple restaurants, including the well-loved Plum Island Grille, where you can enjoy a dinner of fresh oysters while enjoying the views! There's also the more casual Plum Island Beachcoma, which offers a variety of dishes and fun cocktails. Around the area, you can also find plenty of ways to stay busy. Plum Island is well known as a birdwatcher's paradise, especially the Parker River National Wildlife Refuge, which is located on the southern part of the island. You could also check out Joppa Flats and Plum Island Sound. Of course, with so much water nearby, you could also go fishing or boating if you wish. And, with larger towns such as Newburyport, Amesbury, and many more nearby, you can easily take daytrips to explore more of the region. Plum Island is wonderful little island on the North shore of Massachusetts. It is a quiet beach community perfect for families, couples, or any one looking to enjoy a beach vacation. Plum Island has the beautiful sandy beaches, the amazing natural habitats found on the Parker River Wildlife Refuge, amazing bird watching, and a lovely light house on the northern end of the island. It is in close proximity (about 4 miles) to downtown Newburyport and it history, culture, dining and shopping attractions. Plum Island is also about 30 minutes south of Portsmouth NH, which is another lovely seaside community. Boston is 45 min away, and can be accessed by route 95 or the Newburyport commuter rail train which is only 5 min away from Plum Island. There is something for everyone in this area, whether you want to enjoy all that coastal New England has to offer or simply relax and enjoy the sand and surf.
