South Kensington is London’s museum district, and this home (opposite a gated garden) could be its latest exhibition. The hosts of this home own an art gallery, which will come as no surprise, and the pieces they’ve collected are well-displayed against the high ceilings and period features of the ground floor’s living spaces. The hallway leads to an elegant sitting room, with a fireplace and a comfy collection of armchairs and a sofa. Smart sculptures line the mantelpiece, and you’ll find artworks and decorations from overseas, like the delicate Japanese-style screen by the window. Next door is the third bedroom (which has a sofabed, and doubles as a study space). Also on this floor is the bathroom and the contemporary kitchen, which has a breakfast bar and skylit seating area – and there’s a dining in the conservatory next door too.
Down a flight of stairs there’s a courtyard with a grinning Buddha ornament. Either side of the courtyard, you’ll also find the two bedrooms – the second bedroom (with a double bed), and the master bedroom (with a king-size bed) – each with a sleekly fitted ensuite bathroom.
