8021 Towne Ave. is a 1bd house located in a working class, ethnically mixed community located in South Angeles. The house is approximately 15 minutes from DTLA with no traffic. The neighborhood mostly consists of Mexican and Black families and is within a 2 min drive to two supermarkets. The nearest Metro station is the Manchester/Vermont station on the Red Line and a 10 min. bus ride to the Avalon station on the Green line.
In the spirit of transparency, the house is located in a community that used to be crime ridden but that has since changed in the past few years. It's a low-income community however I have not had any issues with theft, burglary, or violence. Perception is not always reality.
The house has a small bedroom, living, spacious kitchen, porch, and backyard which is generally occupied by my 1 year old friendly beast of a puppy, Biko. He's the resident watch dog and stays outside. On-street parking is generally not a problem and the house has a pull-in driveway.
This place is perfect for someone needing a place that is relatively inexpensive, convenient, and comfortable.
About me: I am a single, 33 year old medical student at Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science. I'm originally from the Bay Area and spend most of my time in the library or out with friends. I enjoy hiking, hanging out with Biko, international travel, social justice, and being lazy when I'm not studying.
