Just a walk through the bush and scrub down to a stony beach with oysters galore for the BBQ. It's only a short drive to Koutu Beach with pipi and cockle beds. Enjoy the view while you eat your feasts at the huge outdoor table.
We are a 10 minute drive from the sandy beaches of Opononi and Omapare which is the launching pad for trips to magnificent sand dunes on the "Hokianga Express" and go boogie boarding down the dunes.
"Crossings Hokianga" lead guided harbour tours where various historical spots can be viewed.
The pub at Opononi is a vibrant friendly place to spend time with your friends. The food is good too!
The Waiotemarama waterfall walk is beautiful and you can visit the Labyrinth puzzle shop on the same trip.-- 20 minutes by car from the bach.
If it's a strong coffee and some cafe food you are after it's only 15 minutes to the Boatshed Cafe at Rawene, and the car ferry to historic Kohukohu where you can enjoy the arts and crafts and the check out the pretty historic town.
Not to be forgotten is a visit to The Lord of the Forest Tane Mahuta in the Waipoua Forest. You can visit in the day on your own or do the famous "Footprints Waipoua" guided night tours of the kauri forest.
