Basement in-law suite with exterior entrance, private bath, kitchenette and large living space. The living space has a dining table and chairs, bookshelf, desk/dresser, closet and twin trundle bed (two twin beds, one stores under the other, that can be pushed together to make a king bed) There is an outside entrance directly into the kitchenette. The kitchenette has a sink, storage, dishes, a full-size fridge, microwave, toaster, iron and ironing board, and the washer and dryer. Kitchenette also serves as the laundry room for the whole house and the family has additional storage in the basement outside of the large living space. Washington, DC is shaped like a diamond and the Takoma neighborhood is located near the very northern tip. We are only a 20 minute metro ride to downtown Washington, DC. The nearest Metro (subway) station is a 7 minute walk from the house, and one block away is a community center with tennis and basketball courts, an indoor swimming pool, and playing fields. Takoma is a very diverse, upper-middle class neighborhood and is quite safe. We have hosted a lot of exchange students over the years from all over the world, including people from Spain, France, Turkmenistan, Costa Rica, Mexico, Colombia, Egypt, Ukraine, Turkey, Venezuela, Brazil, Ecuador, The Netherlands, and Germany. We enjoy the cultural exchange aspect of hosting students, and think it is a valuable opportunity to expose our children to other people and cultures. All utilities, including internet, are included. The washer and dryer are also available for use. Meals are not included, but can be negotiable.
