Shiralea is located in a rural setting surrounded by native flora and fauna, with one unit, open plan living with full facilities to accommodate four people having a double bed and a lounge which folds out into a comfortable double bed. Tea/coffee making facilities, and rain water for drinking. The cottage also contains, full cooking facilities, cutlery, china etc. Flat screen TV with DVD, iron and ironing board (located under double bed). En suite with shower including a washing machine in the wet area. All bedding, linen, towels Fully insulated with reverse cycle air conditioning and lined with our local timber,"Pinus Radiata'. Continental breakfast supplied if requested (Small Charge).
You can have a gas barby on the veranda and enjoy the sounds of country living.
Ample off street parking for caravans and trailers.
Pets are allowed in unit but must not be left unattended. We supply throw over rugs for furniture and towels and floor mat to keep your dogs feet dry and the cottage clean. If you wish to leave you dog/s, there is a fully enclosed private dog facility with walk in bedroom, flea free sack bed & fresh water at the rear of the unit.
Cats can be left in our pet boarding complex (fees & conditions apply).
Sink Holes,divers destination
Located within walking distance of some of the divers sink holes and short driving distance to others. It is an area worthy of staying to explore and dive these natural underwater caverns. Piccanninnie Ponds is approx 20 min drive west off Allendale East, whilst Ewens Ponds is 5 mins drive popular for swimming and snorkeling. .
Mountain to the sea.
Mount Gambier and the famous Blue Lake are 20 mins north of Allendale East, you can visit the limestone quarries or take a tour to the waters edge of the Blue Lake, drive down the crater to the valley lake to picnic, barbeque or just wander through the landscape or visit the fauna park. For the energetic there is Mount Schank to climb definately worth the walk as the view is stupendous. Five minutes from Shiralea is the Crayfish Capital fishing village of Pt McDonnell, fresh crays in season, see the fairy penguins at dusk from free viewing platform, explore the rugged cliffs, roam on the reef or visit the old historic cemetry nestled in the sand hills.
