I'm looking for a roommate as an open-ended sub-letter to live with me in a two-bedroom apartment in Inwood on Seaman Avenue at Academy - beginning August 1st. The bedroom available is furnished with a full-sized bed with bedding, an armoire, a writing desk, chair, rug, and is very spacious. The walls are painted grey with white curtains with a glass door also covered by curtains. There is air conditioning unit and an internet modem in the room. The apartment is on the ground floor but not on the bottom of the building as there are basement units underneath. There is a charming living room/study that is filled with instruments and books on sound healing It's also where I sometimes see wellness clients and host small group classes and music rehearsals. There is no television so it has the feel of a cozy study. The kitchen has just been redone with a new floor, counter and cupboards. It has a high table that's perfect for morning coffee and tea. I'm professional musician - age 41 - a wellness practitioner and business owner. I'm also an opera singer and sing loudly but usually not for more than one hour a day. I teach online sound-healing classes from my room. Sometimes I will have voice students, singers, or sound-healing clients come to the apartment for lessons or group sessions. I'm otherwise in my co-working space downtown, hiding in my room, or traveling (although I will throw the occasional cocktail gathering.) I am easy-going, friendly, and self-contained and would love to live with someone who is the same. Please be a non-smoker with a positive attitude who appreciates music, is tidy yet fun! Sorry, no pets (as I have many delicate musical instruments.) The A-Train is a short walk to either the Dykman or 207th St. stops. There are several lovely coffee shops nearby and Inwood Park is gorgeous, vast and only a block away (so is Fort Tryon and the Cloisters). There is also a 24-hour laundromat one block away and close access to a supermarkets and shops. The Inwood Farmer's Market is every Saturday - just up the street selling organic produce. As a female I feel very safe here - even coming home late at night. I love my neighborhood and you will too! These parks are beautiful in the summer by the river with endless paths to explore so that it doesn't even feel like Manhattan. Rent is $1075 per month plus $100 per month for utilities, including internet. To move in, you will need one month's security deposit and one month's rent + one utility payment = $2,250 to move in. The deposit is fully refundable upon move-out. Credit check required and simple sublease agreement. This is a fabulous opportunity to move into a long-term living situation with a month-to-month agreement and no broker's fee! Couples are considered for a larger rent of $1575. Please call or email for an appointment and tell me a little bit about yourself. Looking forward to hearing from you!
